After purchasing two Galapagos cruise ships from Royal Caribbean Group earlier this month, Lindblad Expeditions is revealing its plans for the new vessels.

The National Geographic Delfina and National Geographic Gemini embark on their inaugural sailings February 14, 2025, and March 14, 2025, respectively, and bookings are now open for itineraries on both fully renovated ships.

“The launch of National Geographic Delfina and National Geographic Gemini represent a significant milestone for Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic, doubling the size of our fleet in the Galápagos and further strengthening our deep ties to the islands and their people,” said Sven-Olof Lindblad, founder and CEO of Lindblad. “These two ships will diversify our range of offerings, capitalizing on our nearly 60 years of providing expeditions to these enchanted islands.”

With a 16-guest capacity, National Geographic Delfina is the smallest, most intimate of the Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic fleet. It sports eight spacious staterooms with either private balconies or direct access to an outer deck.

National Geographic Delfina also boasts a wrap-around upper deck with an outdoor cafe; an open-air observation deck with a shaded relaxation area, a Whirlpool Hot Tub, and lounge chairs; and a main deck with a dining room, bar, lounge, and library.

The ship will sail the archipelago year-round on two new itineraries: the 10-day Galápagos by Catamaran: An Intimate Voyage and the 16-day Galápagos by Catamaran + Machu Picchu and Peru’s Land of the Inca.

National Geographic Gemini has 27 accommodations – a mix of cabins and suites fitting one to three guests – and a 48-guest capacity.

Its amenities include an upper deck with a Whirlpool Hot Tub and windowed Fitness Center and Spa; a lounge deck with an outdoor cafe; a glass-wrapped restaurant on the Marina Deck; and a sizeable lounge with a bar and library.

The ship will sail year-round on the 10-day Exploring Galápagos: One Week Sailing the Islands and 16-day Exploring Galápagos + Machu Picchu and Peru’s Land of the Inca.
