JetBlue to Add Domestic First-Class Seats Called ‘Mint Mini’ or ‘Junior Mint’ in 2026

JetBlue is preparing to add a new class of service to its domestic fleet, dubbed “Mint Mini” or “Junior Mint,” the airline announced in a note to employees on Thursday.

The new class is aimed at planes that do not feature Mint, JetBlue’s highest premium offering. While the standard Mint option includes fully lie-flat seats measuring six-and-a-half feet long, Mint Mini is expected to offer a more upgraded experience than the airline’s lower-level fares, though without fully lie-flat seats.

JetBlue plans to add two or three rows of the new class to each plane, providing passengers on shorter-haul flights with a first-class option.

The move reflects a broader trend in the airline industry, as carriers look for ways to attract that growing population of premium travelers.

Delta Air Lines recently launched its third Delta One Lounge, an exclusive space for its highest-paying guests, and has also teased plans to segment its main cabin, adding another option above the standard fare. British Airways announced it will retrofit its A380 fleet with an all-new first-class offering. JetBlue, which already offers Mint Suites and Mint Studios, had previously unveiled plans for its first-ever airport lounges specifically for these kinds of guests.

JetBlue is also trying to capture more of the international market, expanding its global route map with two new roundtrip flights from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Madrid (MAD) and Edinburgh (EDI).
