YYC Reaches Milestone of 100 Non-Stop Routes

by Bruce Parkinson / January 13, 2025
YYC Reaches Milestone of 100 Non-Stop Routes

The first non-stop route linking New York City’s LaGuardia Airport with western Canada will also deliver a milestone as the 100th non-stop route from YYC Calgary International Airport.

American Airlines will launch a seasonal weekly direct flight from Calgary to New York’s newly-enhanced LGA, taking YYC into triple-digit route territory.

“This is a significant benchmark for YYC,” says Chris Dinsdale, president and CEO, Calgary Airport Authority.

“We continue to build momentum for Calgary as a destination, and kicking off 2025 with 100 non-stop routes shows the confidence that our partners have in the city and the region’s growth potential. We look forward to welcoming LaGuardia-bound guests and strengthening our ties to the New York City region.”

In 2024, there were non-stop flights to 94 destinations from YYC. In 2019 there were 82.

American Airlines will offer weekly Saturday flights between YYC and LGA beginning June 7 and operating through August 30. Direct flights between LGA and Canadian destinations are currently only offered through Halifax, Toronto, and Montreal airports.

Other YYC airline partners offer flights to the New York City region through Newark and JFK airports.
