Frontier Airlines Intros Enhanced Complimentary Seat Upgrades for Elite Status Members

Frontier Airlines is launching a new benefit for its most loyal Elite Status customers: expanded access to free seat upgrades. The new benefit is the first of several innovations scheduled to debut in 2025 as part of The New Frontier.

Starting today, eligible Elite Status members can upgrade to both Premium Seating and UpFront Plus, featuring guaranteed open middle seats. Later this year, upgrades to the all-new First Class seating will also become available.

Access to these seats depends on what level members are at within the Elite program. Platinum members are eligible for upgrades starting 12 hours before departure, while gold members are eligible to upgrade starting four hours before departure. For both, upgrades can be selected through the Frontier Airlines mobile app or on FlyFrontier.com.

“We have so much in store for 2025 as we write the next chapter of The New Frontier and show that luxury and affordability can fly hand in hand,” said Frontier’s chief commercial officer Bobby Schroeter. “Frontier’s most loyal customers will have even more reason to make us their airline of choice this year as they start enjoying free seat upgrades and other enhancements, adding extra comfort and convenience to their travel.”

The New Frontier

Frontier announced “The New Frontier” in late 2024. The program, which will see many changes to the airline’s product and customer service offering, will include such improvements as no change or cancellation fees, first-class seating on every flight, unlimited free companion travel for Platinum and Diamond elite members, and more.
