A Completely New Cabin Look Is Coming to Delta Air Lines

You can start saying goodbye to the current Delta Air Lines interior look. The airline is launching completely redesigned interior cabins across its fleet ahead of its centennial anniversary later this year.

The cabins will debut on narrowbody on its Boeing 757 aircraft flying domestic and short-haul international routes this fall. They will then debut on its Airbus A350 fleet in early 2025.

It is a completely new look for Delta, with a softer color palette that reflects the classic Delta look, but with a more modern, cleaner lean.

The redesign includes memory foam cushion seats on widebody jets through all of its cabin classes, with subtle seat tags to distinguish between those classes, along with mood lighting that will change during each new phase of the flight. Delta says the lighting will be designed to help flyers acclimate to whatever time zone they are flying into.

For boarding, we’ve focused on the ‘moment of deceleration’ – warm and inviting lighting that makes the cabin appear spacious and open. At mealtimes, we queue hues that feel like you’re at a candlelit dinner – making meals more natural and inviting.  As the lights dim for sleep, we borrow from the sunset and slowly remove blue light while bringing in warm amber tones which are reminiscent of a sunset glow. When it’s time to wake up, the cabin slowly brightens into morning and daylight,” Delta’s VP for customer experience design Mauricio Parise said.

The new look extends to the onboard lavatories, too, which are getting bright walls and accent walls opposite the mirror in Delta’s Celestial Sky pattern.
