A Closer Look at a Regent Seven Seas Cruises Alaska Itinerary

The beauty of cruising Alaska is that people can be as active or as relaxed as they wish. From simply lounging on deck to smell the pine-scented freshness of wilderness air, to searching for wildlife on whale-watching expeditions, to ziplining over the rainforest canopy, to chugging beer in old-time saloons.

The beauty of cruising Alaska with Regent Seven Seas Cruises is no matter how rugged, sensational or drenching the excursion – from kayaking to glacier hikes – guests return from the wild to the sublime comfort of a luxurious ship, with its cushy suites, welcoming bars, and fine dining.

Best of all for guests eager to maximize their Alaska experience, as Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ all-inclusive pricing includes unlimited shore excursions, they may venture out twice a day, if timing allows.

For example, after a morning hike to ancient totem poles in Tongass Rainforest, they can attend an afternoon salmon-bake and cultural performance. (Travel advisors should inform clients that Regent Choice premium excursions – including special whale-watching expeditions, and helicopter flightseeing or seaplane jaunts for distant sport fishing – may incur extra fees.)

RSSC’s Alaska season onboard Regent Seven Seas Explorer runs from May through September in both 2025 ad 2026, each offering excellent opportunities for immersive experiences in the nature, culture, cuisine, and history of the various ports of call. While 14-day itineraries loop round-trip from Vancouver, Canada, seven-day itineraries cruise between Vancouver and Seward, Alaska.

The itinerary

The 14-day Canadian Spring itinerary looping from Vancouver provides a comprehensive Alaska experience, starting with stunning vistas as Seven Seas Explorer cruises north through the Inside Passage.

As examples of the wide variety of included excursions offered throughout the voyage, options in just Ketchikan include Alaska fishing with wilderness dining; a historic walking tour through Creek Street; a cultural tour to see totem poles and an Alaska Native clan house; a Saxman Native village and lumberjack show; sea-kayaking to spot eagles and other wildlife; a scenic boat ride through Misty Fjords; a jaunt to view bears in Herring Cove; a boat-ride through Misty Fjords; and the aerial Zipline and Rappel adventure including a visit to the Alaska Raptor Center; among others.

After Ketchikan, the ship calls at Juneau – known for the Mendenhall Glacier – enroute to Skagway – where it’s a lifetime thrill for train buffs to ride the White Pass & Yukon Steam Train above the tree line to Alaska’s vast tundra.

Icy Strait Point in Hoonah on Chichagof Island – one of the few Alaska ports where guests can literally step off the pier and cross a bridge to the wilderness – accesses whale-watching, kayaking and fishing excursions; the most accessible coastal brown bear view platforms in Southeast Alaska; one of the world’s longest ziplines; as well as local cultural programs showcasing Native Tlingit dancers and storytellers.

After exhilarating activities at Icy Strait Point, guests relax on a scenic cruise around Hubbard Glacier. Seven Seas Explorer continues to Seward before cruising through the Gulf of Alaska to call at Sitka, before a sea day of viewing the lush wilderness surrounding Tracy Arm to the icy turquoise face of Sawyer Glacier.

The next port of call, Klawock, is a significant hub of Tlingit Native culture. The rarely visited Klawock will be a new stop on all Regent cruise itineraries as of 2025.

As Seven Seas Explorer cruises southbound through the Outside Passage, guests can anticipate their day in Victoria on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Here, options run from kayaking to sport-fishing to a leisurely stroll through Butchart Gardens to enjoying English High Tea at the Fairmont Empress.

What’s included?

Regent Seven Seas Cruises provides varying experiences by category of suite.

Guests in Concierge Suites or higher have a pre-cruise hotel package, which in Vancouver typically includes a stay at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel for convenient sightseeing and a relaxed transition before the cruise. As well, they get priority online reservations for shore excursions and onboard dining, plus savings on Regent Choice experiences.

Elevated experiences for those in Penthouse Suites or higher include personal butler service and daily canapés delivered to the suite.

For all guests, Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ all-inclusive pricing includes unlimited shore excursions, unlimited access to spa facilities, dining in all specialty restaurants at no extra cost, pre-paid gratuities, valet laundry service, unlimited beverages, wines, cocktails, and specialty coffees. The customized in-suite bar is replenished daily with guest’s preferences.

Each suite has binoculars, ready to spot a whale breaching at sea or an American bald eagle swooping among the trees.
