Oceania Cruises will bring  Riviera to Alaska for the 2025 season, marking the first time the ship sails in the waters of the 49th state.

The 1,250 guest Riviera, which underwent a huge refurbishment in late 2022, is one of the industry’s true foodie ships, and Oceania is highlighting its culinary offerings as it readies to bring it to Alaska, calling the occasion the first time a ship designed for foodies, by foodies, will sail the region.

That food focus includes a number of excursions built around Oceania’s culinary focus including an Alaska Coastal Brunch Escape and Cruise in Juneau, a culinary adventure in Sitka, and a Hook & Cook at Slamon Falls excursion in Ketchikan. Each itinerary is designed to give Riviera guests a chance to sample authentic food with local ingredients.

The itineraries will range from 7 days to 12 days with departures from Vancouver, Whittier, and Seattle.

Oceania will offer both pre- and post-cruise land programs during the season, including its Discover Denali program, where guests get a chance to visit North America’s highest peak.
