Montreal, Quebec City And Toronto Score Top Hotels List
Canada ranked fourth globally with 86 Gold Award hotels in Hotels.com’s 2017 Loved by Guests Awards.
The top five cities in Canada included Montreal, with 13 hotels, Quebec City (11), Toronto (8), Vancouver (8) and Whistler (4). The awards were based on millions of guest reviews on the booking engine’s website, recognizing 2,500 hotels across 87 countries.
Canada had hotels in 39 towns and cities earning a Gold Award (an average guest review rating of 4.7 or higher out of 5).
Worldwide, hotels in the United States were the biggest gold award winners, with 969 properties being recognized. Other top countries included the United Kingdom (171 hotels), Italy (153), Canada (86) and Spain (70).
By city, the three top hotels in Montreal were the Alexandre Logan 1870 B&B, Hotel Le St-James Montréal and the Renaissance Montreal Downtown Hotel. In Quebec, it was the Auberge Saint-Antoine by Relais & Châteaux, the Hôtel Le Germain Québec and the Les Lofts St-Joseph. In Toronto, the top three properties were the Windsor Arms Hotel, the Shangri-la hotel Toronto and Le Germain Hotel Maple Leaf Square.
