Windstar Cruises Expands South Pacific Presence to Fiji, Tonga and the Cook Islands

In 2026, Windstar Cruises will expand its presence in the South Pacific beyond Tahiti, the Tuamotus, and the Marquesas with new itineraries that visit Fiji, Tonga, and the Cook Islands.  Additionally, the line will intro new seven-night Tuamotus and 11-night Marquesas itineraries, as well as new air and hotel packages with overwater bungalows in Bora Bora.

To celebrate the news, Windstar is launching an early booking offer. Guests who book a 2026 South Pacific cruise through Oct. 31, 2024 will enjoy a free All-Inclusive package plus a $100 onboard credit per stateroom.

Among the new itineraries is a 15-day “Flowers of the South French Polynesia,” which begins with an overnight in Fiji. Port visits include SavuSavu and Taveuni in Fiji, Nuku’alofa in Tonga, and Aitutaki and Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, along with an overnight in Bora Bora, and ending in Papeete, Tahiti.

Also new is the 10- or 11-day “Maori Storytellers & French Polynesia Treasures,” which starts and ends in Papeete, followed by Raiatea, Aitutaki and Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, an overnight in Bora Bora, and a day on the private island at Motu Mahaea (Taha’a), and onto Huahine (only on the 11-night version) and Moorea.

Other options are a seven-day “Tantalizing Tuamotu Islands & Beautiful Bora Bora” and 11-day “Far Flung French Polynesia and Marquesas Magic.”

“These new additions are a natural progression for us, as these faraway South Pacific islands exemplify the heart of Polynesian culture,” said Christopher Prelog, president of Windstar.

Air & accommodation packages

Another new offering is the air and overwater bungalow packages that can be combined with Windstar’s classic seven-day “Dreams of Tahiti” cruise that includes overnights in a coveted overwater bungalow on Bora Bora pre-cruise. This package will be available beginning March 2025.

“Stars Over Bora Bora” is a 14-day package that includes Air Tahiti Nui flights roundtrip from Seattle or Los Angeles, plus two nights hotel in Papeete and three nights in an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora.
