Paramount To Open ‘British Disneyland’ In Five Years

by Jessica Montevago / March 13, 2017

The United Kingdom will get its own Disneyland-like theme park in 2022, created by film giant Paramount, in Kent.

The £3.2 billion theme park (about $4.2 billion) will draw inspiration from iconic Paramount movies, such as Titanic, Forrest Gump, The Godfather, Footloose and Iron Man. It will also include rides inspired by BBC Worldwide and Aardman Animations, the creators of Wallace and Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Chicken Run.

Spanning 872 acres, the park will include rides, a 2,000-seat theater, cafes and restaurants, hotels and a nightclub. The developers also plan to host shows and music events.

A Paramount and Friends Carnival is planned to take place every afternoon, followed by a show celebrating the works of Paramount Pictures every evening.

Zoned areas have been dubbed Adventure Isle, Land of Legends, Cartoon Circus, Starfleet Command, Action Square, Port Paramount and Entertainment City.

The park is expecting to draw 40,000 visitors a day, with tickets costing £57.
