Carnival Cruise Line has hiked the price of its Cheers beverage package by a whopping 16%, going from $70.74 per night for cruises of six nights or longer (if purchased pre-cruise) to $82.54 pre-cruise and $88.54 onboard.

However, for cruisers who primarily do shorter cruises, the price has actually gone down, going from $82.54 for sailings of five nights or less (pre-cruise), without the taxes and 18% gratuity included. The new charge of $82.54 includes taxes and gratuity.

The price increase was both announced and went into effect on Dec. 5, 2024. The sudden change did not give already booked passengers who had not yet booked their drink package the chance to book the it under the old pricing.

Beverages included in the Cheers package remain the same, as does the drink limit of 15 per day.
