Curious kids now have more opportunities to discover “real life WOWs in the world around them,” thanks to a new family trip initiative.

Atlas Obscura Adventures is expanding into family tours. Best known as a travel-focused media company, Atlas Obscura (AO) first expanded into small group tours in 2016, and launched a partnership with tour operator Intrepid approximately one year ago under the AO Adventures banner.

Now, AO Adventures has partnered with podcast network Tinkercast to launch Wow in the World Family Tours. Described as “first-of-their-kind tours,” these family trips have been created for children ages 5 to 12, and incorporate custom audio content from Tinkercast’s popular family-friendly podcast, Wow in the World.

Each trip will feature audio content from the podcast’s hosts Guy Raz and Mindy Thomas, daily missions, and a special Adventure Toolkit with fun items like a travel journal, postcards, a t-shirt, and more.

“For years our audience has been asking us to offer family trips, and we’re delighted to finally be doing it in partnership with Tinkercast,” said Atlas Obscura CEO Warren Webster. “Both Atlas Obscura and Tinkercast are driven by a deep sense of curiosity. We want to spark that same curiosity in travelers of all ages.”

Wow in the World Family Tours is launching with trips to Egypt and Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, although more destinations will be added in the future. The trips are seven nights, and are designed and scheduled to fit school breaks. Information on prices, dates, and itineraries can be found on the Atlas Obscura website.

“The world is full of WOWs just waiting to be discovered, and our mission here at Tinkercast is to create content and experiences that inspire kids and families to look up, engage their sense of wonder, and say ‘Wow!,’” said Tinkercast’s CEO Meredith Halpern-Ranzer. “We could not imagine a better partner than Atlas Obscura to help us extend this mission into real-world adventures for kids and families at some of the most wonder-filled places on Earth!”
