Walt Disney World Sets Date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Opening

by Daniel McCarthy / May 13, 2024
Walt Disney World Sets Date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Opening

Walt Disney World will open its newest attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, at its Magic Kingdom Park on June 28, Disney Parks announced on Monday.

The attraction, which takes over for the previous Splash Mountain attraction at Disney’s Magic Kingdom in Orlando, is themed after Disney’s 2009 “The Princess and the Frog” film.

The attraction features characters from the movie with actors who voiced those original characters coming back for the attraction including Bruno Campos as Prince Naveen, Jenifer Lewis as Mama Odie, Michael-Leon Wooley as Louis, and Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana. It also will feature a soundtrack that includes favorites from the film along with original music created by PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard.

Around the same time the ride debuts, Disney will also reveal brand new theming around the attraction that takes its cue from New Orleans, the setting of the 2009 film. That includes the sweet scene of beignets being kept warm in the oven,” along with artwork from some Louisiana-based artists including Malaika Favorite.

The new ride is one of a number of additions coming to Disney’s Orlando resort this year.
