United CEO Munoz out of Hospital after Surgery
United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz has been released from the hospital after heart surgery in Chicago Jan. 6.
In a letter to his employees, Munoz said he is headed back to his Chicago home and will resume work shortly, as doctors expect “a quick recovery.” The operation was a planned treatment and not a result of Munoz’s condition after a heart attack in October.
United posted its highest customer satisfaction performance for the holiday period in more than three years while Munoz was ill. Brett Hart is acting as CEO until Munoz returns.
