TV-Inspired Travel: Visit Wrexham, Sail with “Below Deck” Chef

TV-Inspired Travel: Visit Wrexham, Sail with “Below Deck” Chef

More and more people are finding travel inspiration in the shows they watch. According to the American Express 2023 Global Travel Trends Report, 64% of some 3,000 travelers said they’ve been inspired to visit specific travel destinations after seeing them featured on TV shows, news sources or the movies.

That number is even higher for Gen Z and Millennial respondents; 70% of respondents in those age demographics have been so inspired.

Tour and cruise companies are responding to this growing demand with itineraries that give travelers the chance to make their travel dreams real.

Globus Adds “Welcome to Wrexham” Experience
Globus’ first-ever Escapes by Globus Wales offering – Welsh Escape with London – includes an evening in Wrexham, the town and football club made famous by the documentary series “Welcome to Wrexham.”

When tour-goers overnight in Llangollen, they will have the option to spend an evening in Wrexham to visit some of the people and places featured in the documentary.

And, good news for solo travelers, Globus is waiving the single supplement on a percentage of space on this new Welsh Escape tour for departures from November through March.

Emerald Cruises Partners with “Below Deck” Chef Ben Robinson
Emerald Cruises has partnered with Chef Ben Robinson, of “Below Deck” fame, for two culinary-themed sailings onboard the Emerald Azzurra and Emerald Sakara. Chef Robinson will bring his distinctive culinary style to two, eight-day sailings: first in the Mediterranean onboard the October 28, 2023 “Coastal Gems of Italy and Croatia” sailing, departing from Venice; and then in the Caribbean with a “Hidden Charms of the Caribbean” sailing departing from San Juan, Puerto Rico on March 2, 2024.

Guests joining these departures will have multiple opportunities to sample Chef Robinson’s cuisine while interacting with and learning from him. At an evening welcome reception that kicks off each sailing, guests will meet the chef and enjoy a signature cocktail. During an onboard cooking demonstration, Chef Robinson will share his creations from locally-sourced ingredients, along with cooking tips and time for an interactive Q&A session. There will also be a special shore excursion led by Chef Robinson.
