Skylift Alights Over Norway’s Fjords

by Maria Lisella / April 19, 2017

With almost 500,000 Americans visiting Norway in 2016, an increase of 17%, this Scandinavian gem is about to welcome one more spectacular attraction in May.

Agents may be familiar with the most popular fjord tour known as Norway in a Nutshell and The Flåm Railway, both of which will be enhanced by the Loen Skylift that will open in May in the heart of Fjord Norway. Within seven airy minutes travelers arrive at the Mountain Station, and a restaurant with a 210-degree panoramic view overlooking Mt. Skåla and Lake Lovatnet in the east, Jostedalsbreen Glacier and Olden in the south, and the Nordfjord that winds its way towards Stryn in the west. A cable car will lift visitors from the fjord almost 3,316 feet into the sky. From here, they can enjoy the views either from the restaurant table, or while hiking in the mountains.
