With COVID-19 continuing to impact the cruise industry, another line is keeping its flexible cancellation policy for the time being.

Princess Cruises will continue its Book with Confidence policy, and vaccination requirement, through summer 2022 sailings, the cruise line announced this week.

The policy includes all Princess sailings through Sept. 30, 2022, as long as they are booked by March 2, 2022, and allows for changes to be made up to 30 days prior to departure, with cancellation fees received as future cruise credits.

Princess’ vaccination requirement for guests, which has been in place since the line’s restart, will also continue for the same sailings. The comes even as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) makes its cruise requirements optional.

“Planning a vacation gives us something to look forward to and so many of us have an inherent desire to explore the world and experience sought-after destinations,” said Deanna Austin, Princess Cruises chief commercial officer.

“With the extension of our Book with Confidence program, we’re giving cruisers the confidence to book a summer vacation now, knowing they have flexibility in case they need to alter their plans,” he added.

Princess is currently in the process of putting the final touches on its newest ship, Discovery Princess, which is still on schedule to debut in March. Discovery Princess will be the sixth and final ship in Princess’ Royal class.  It will be similar to Enchanted Princess, but will not have a Bistro Sur La Mer.

Its highlights include Gigi’s Pizza; Salty Dog Gastropub, a gastropub experience developed by Chef Ernesto Uchimura; and Take Five, an atmospheric bar where live jazz and craft cocktails are the main attractions.
