IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle brand, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, has opened a new property in San Antonio.

InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk, a 21-story, 390-room hotel in the lively Texas city’s downtown, is in walking distance of several attractions and one mile from Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

“The InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk embodies the vibrant culture and rich heritage of San Antonio,” said Stefan Gruvberger, General Manager. “Whether you’re a local seeking a cultivated retreat or a visitor eager to explore our city’s charms, the hotel’s luxury accommodations and amenities offer something for everyone.”

The new hotel’s interiors sport a classy, sophisticated style in its guest rooms, suites, and restaurants and bars. It offers Classic and Premium rooms, as well as Presidential, Junior, and One-Bedroom suites.

Amenities include upscale concierge service, a rooftop pool, 24-hour room service, a 24-hour fitness center, and the Club InterContinental Lounge. On-site valet and a dedicated house car are also available.

Dining options are Cavalier, the ground-floor American-style restaurant; Deco Bar, the lobby bar; Rosebelly Coffee for coffee, pastries, and light bites; and High Praise, a rooftop bar and restaurant opening later this month, which will offer live music on weekends and serve small bites and cocktails.

The hotel also offers 18,000 square feet of meeting and event space, which includes the 8,200-square-foot Pecan Ballroom, flexible conference rooms, a boardroom, and 10 meeting rooms.

Attractions in the area include The Alamo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Pearl, and La Villita Historic Village. The hotel offers access to a water taxi landing zone as an alternative way to travel through the city.

Opening InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk is part of IHG’s push into Texas this year, introducing 15 new properties across eight brands.
