Fairmont Breakers Long Beach has opened in the heart of downtown Long Beach, California.

Originally built in 1926, Breakers is a landmark hotel that’s undergone a multi-million-dollar renovation. Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, part of hospitality group Accor, has restored historic elements of the property while transforming it into a beacon of contemporary luxury in the city.

“We are proud to welcome guests to Fairmont Breakers Long Beach. It is an honor to play a role in the revival of an iconic landmark within this community, serving as a haven for visitors and locals alike,” said Mark Steenge, general manager of Fairmont Breakers Long Beach. “This property is a testament to the evolution of Long Beach as a thriving destination and Fairmont’s commitment to set a new standard for luxury, elegance, and high-touch service with each and every experience.”

Fairmont has preserved certain parts of the building’s original architecture, such as the untouched plaster molding, original mailbox in the lobby, and exterior ornamentation, and brought enhancements to complement them, such as the hotel’s new sparkling chandeliers, marble flooring, and sleek furnishings. The property has also become home to a curated art collection by local artists and photographers adorning gallery walls in the Nettuno restaurant and the Sky Room.

The 185-key hotel features the city’s only luxury spa and rooftop pool. It also boasts a sun-soaked pool terrace, two signature restaurants, and the return of the Sky Room, an 86-year-old fine dining staple in Long Beach.

All guest rooms, including 22 suites, have grand windows letting in plenty of natural light and either facing the palm tree-filled city or Long Beach Harbor. The rooms have been designed with an elegant coastal color palette – deep blue tones with touches of gold and mixed metals.
