Marriott and MGM Reveal Exclusive Benefits for Loyalty Program Members

After delaying the official start of their partnership to sometime in early 2024, Marriott and MGM this week unveiled some more details on what’s to come when the two officially link up under the new MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy.

There is currently no public timetable as to when exactly the benefit-matching and partnership will go into effect. Neither is there a timetable as to when travelers enrolled in both programs will be able to transfer points back and forth, one of the major benefits of the partnership. However, there is now some more detail on what other benefits are.

Marriott member benefits at MGM properties
Marriott this week unveiled what benefits its members will get when staying at MGM Properties. While all members will be able to earn Bonvoy points at MGM properties, the other benefits all depend on Marriott Bonvoy level—while all levels, from Silver Elite to Ambassador Elite can earn points, only the higher-status members will get some of the bigger benefits. Here’s a breakdown:

  • Silver Elite members will be able to earn points and 10% bonus points on eligible spend.
  • Gold Elite members will get 25% bonus points, along with 500 Marriott Bonvoy Points per stay as a welcome gift.
  • Platinum Elite members will get a 50% points bonus, along with 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per stay or a $15 food and beverage credit per night. These members will also get enhanced room upgrades (based on availability), and late checkout (2 p.m.).
  • Titanium Elite members will get a 75% points bonus, 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per stay, or $15 food & beverage credit per night, along with the same upgrade, check-in, and late checkout benefits as Platinum Elite members.
  • Ambassador Elite members will get all Titanium Elite benefits plus an even later checkout (4 p.m.), waived resort fee, early check-in (1 p.m. based on availability), one suite upgrade per year in Vegas, complimentary self-parking, show discounts, priority access to nightclubs, spas, pool cabanas, and more, a 15% retail discount, and guaranteed hotel reservations within 24 hours.

MGM member benefits at Marriott
MGM members will soon be able to take full advantage of their MGM status at Marriott properties.

Those who are already MGM members will be able to status match with Marriott—MGM Gold members will receive Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status, Platinum will receive Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status, and NOIR will receive Marriot Bonvoy Ambassador Elite status.

That transfer between MGM to Marriott is fairly beneficial for MGM members as Gold Elite status is generally reserved for travelers who spend 25 nights at a Marriott property per year, while Ambassador Elite is reserved for those who stay 100 nights plus spend $23,000 in qualifying purchases annually.

Each loyalty level at Marriott includes different benefits—Silver Elite, for instance, gets 10% bonus points on stays, free Wi-Fi, priority late checkout, member rates, and more; while Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status receives 25% bonus points on stays, late checkout, welcome gift of points, and more.
