Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced its Puerto Rico debut as the company continues its Caribbean expansion, which also includes plans for resorts in Belize and the Dominican Republic.

Starting in late 2025, Four Seasons will assume management of a resort and residences in Bahia Beach, Rio Grande, in partnership with investment company Paulson Group. In the interim, Four Seasons will renovate and transform the property before its grand reopening.

“As one of the most sought-after travel destinations in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico is the perfect location to bring legendary Four Seasons service and experiences to locals, visitors and residents alike,” says Bart Carnahan, president of global business development, portfolio management, and residential, Four Seasons. “We are honored that our partners at Paulson Puerto Rico have chosen Four Seasons to usher such an exquisite beachfront property into its next chapter, introducing a new luxury lifestyle offering on the island.”

Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Puerto Rico will feature 139 guest rooms and suites and 85 residences. The resort’s reconstruction will include a reimagining of those rooms, as well as the pools, lobby, and wellness facilities. There will also be new oceanside dining and meeting and events spaces.

The resort offers access to two miles of white sand beach, walking trails, tennis courts, and an 18-hole golf course. Located about a 30-minute drive from San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, it is nestled within 483 acres of lush landscaping along Bahia Beach, and therefore allows for ocean, rainforest, lake, and other natural environment views.
