Five More of the Most Anticipated Hotels Opening in 2022

Firehouse Road for Chapin

After spending the better part of last year restricted from meaningful travel, people have spent this year dipping their toes, first with domestic trips, and then, as borders and restrictions eased, internationally. As we enter 2022, hospitality companies say this has encouraged people to take transformative trips.

And consumers are spending more as they do, with today’s affluent travelers shifting from a ‘box checking’ mindset to a ‘traveling well’ mindset, taking a more thoughtful, intentional approach to trip planning, according to Chris Gabaldon, senior vice president of luxury brands for Marriott International.

To prepare for what’s to come in 2022, here are five more of the most anticipated hotels opening next year. (For Part One, click here)

St. Regis Kanai Resort, Riviera Maya, Mexico
Expanding its footprint in Mexico, St. Regis is expected to debut The St. Regis Kanai Resort in 2022. Located in the Mayan Riviera, the resort will feature a sophisticated design that boasts ocean views from every vantage point, with plans that call for 124 guestrooms and suites, as well as 32 exclusive villas with private pools.

100 Princes Street, Edinburgh, Scotland
Red Carnation Hotel Collection will debut its newest property in June 2022 on Edinburgh’s most famous street. Housed within a restored historic building, the boutique space with views of Edinburgh Castle. Interiors are inspired by Alexander McQueen and feature custom-made design features include tartan designed by Araminta Campbell and a central staircase that features a hand-painted mural by Croxford & Saunders, honoring the adventures of several great Scottish explorers.

Fairmont Windsor Park, Englefield Green – Egham, UK
Escape from London’s hustle and bustle at this 40-acre English countryside estate, located on the edge of historic Windsor Great Park and within an hour of London. Enjoy an indulgent afternoon tea experience at the Orchid Tea Room, which gets its name from the original owners of the mansion house who collected orchids from around the world and displayed them in this room. The sprawling hotel will celebrate its grand opening on January 1.

Pendry Park City, Utah
The ski-in ski-out getaway arriving this January in the heart of Canyons Village on Park City Mountain. The modern alpine lodge will feature 152 guestrooms, restaurants, spa, plus Park City’s only rooftop pool and bar. Guests also will enjoy unparalleled access to the largest mountain in the nation as well as on-site ski and snowboard rentals.

Chatwal Lodge, Catskills, New York
After a delay, the sister property to the Manhattan original is introducing a luxury retreat in April 2022 in the Catskills. Set on 60 acres along the wooded shores of the 1,000-acre Toronto Reservoir, the retreat will feature hand-hewn timbers, huge stone fireplaces, and mighty trunks of 40-foot white pine trees towering from floor to ceiling, serving as an inspiration for its all-suite accommodations. Farm-to-table dining, Ayurvedic wellness services, and luxurious banquet facilities round out the amenities.
