Cunard is planning a major refurbishment of Queen Elizabeth II, ahead of the ship’s debut Alaska season from Seattle and Caribbean program from Miami in 2025.

The 2,000-guest ship will undergo a refit that will see signature spaces refreshed including the Commodore Club, Queens Room, Garden Lounge, and The Pavillion.

Highlights of the refurb will include a new dance floor and furnishings in the Queens Room, and new furniture, fixtures, and fittings in the Commodore Club. The Pavillion Pool will get new poolside furniture and a new stylish bar, and staterooms and suites will be enhanced with new in-room entertainment, as well as new USB ports, balcony furniture, mattresses, and more.

A standout feature of the refurbishment will be the introduction of The Pavillion Wellness Café, which debuted earlier in 2024 onboard Cunard’s newest ship, Queen Anne. The wellness-focused venue will serve breakfast, lunch, and daytime dining, with a plant-based menu alongside sustainably sourced meat, fish, and dairy.

Also as part of the vessel’s transformation, the Grills experience will be elevated to new heights with new furnishings, detailing, and more. Additionally, the Grills dining experience will be enhanced with a special three-course Gala Evening menu by Michelin-starred chef Michael Roux.

Post-refurb guests on Queen Elizabeth will be able to enjoy the Harper’s Bazaar Wellness at Sea program, also first introduced on Queen Anne. The program offers three-day packages tailored to relaxation, energy restoration, or recovery.

“As Queen Elizabeth prepares for her highly anticipated debut seasons in the Caribbean from Miami and Alaska from Seattle, this transformation marks an exciting new chapter for Cunard,” said Katie McAlister, president of Cunard.

The refurb will take place from Feb. 25 to March 13, 2025 in Singapore.
