ALG Vacations on Wednesday made two major announcements that its travel advisor partners should be aware of.

First, it unveiled its 2024 schedule for its Exclusive Nonstop Vacation Flights (ENVF), which are special air rates offered via Apple Vacations, Funjet, and Travel Impressions this year. Thirteen U.S. origin cities are included in the ENVF 2024 schedule, along with an expanded number of destinations including Cancun, Cozumel, Huatulco, Ixtapa, Los Cabos, Montego Bay, Puerto Vallarta, and Punta Cana.

ALG Vacations also expects to release its 2025 ENVF schedule via Frontier later this month.

“Unlike traditional charters, our ENVFs can be full flights or seat blocks to the most desirable vacation destinations,” said Jacki Marks, ALGV’s Global Head of Trade Brands. “Through extensive market research each year, we ensure we are offering the most in-demand flights and are competitive with existing scheduled airlines and their routes.”

The second announcement is that Travel Protection Plus (TPP) has gotten some major enhancements that are now live for Apple Vacations, Funjet Vacations, Travel Impressions, Blue Sky Tours, and United Vacations, along with Southwest Vacations’ Travel Protection.

Most notably, ALG Vacations has doubled its missed connection coverage from $500 to $1,000 per person. That coverage provides reimbursement for flight cancellations and delays of three hours or more on nonstop and connecting flights, including ENVFs, due to certain circumstances including inclement weather.

“Customers affected by such delays or canceled flights can book an alternative flight on their choice of airlines on their own, notify our During Travel Team, and file a claim with Trip Mate upon their return,” Marks said. “With the coverage increase, the Missed Connection benefit is more likely to cover the cost of the new airfare and may also be put toward missed nights in resort.”

At the same time, the group decreased Trip Delay coverage on TPP from $3,000 to $1,000 per person. ALG Vacations said that 99% of those 2023 claims were under $1,000. Trip Delay reimburses for expenses such as meals, lodging, and local transportation for delays of 6+ hours.
